Eight Students Chosen for WKU Honors Band

Eight WEHS Band Seniors Participate in WKU's "Freshman for a Day"

Eight Seniors from the WEHS Band participated in the "Freshman for a Day" program at Western Kentucky University on Thursday, November 03 and Tuesday, November 08.  These students are:

  • James Bradfield - Horn
  • Dakota Compton - Euphonium
  • Storm Davenport - Bassoon
  • Lilli Hendrix - Alto Saxophone
  • Leslie Johnson - Clarinet
  • AJ Jordan - Percussion
  • Brittney Jordan - Flute
  • Angelo Rodriguez - Tuba

As a part of this program, the students got to spend a day on WKU's campus, participated in (or scheduled) individual private lessons on their instrument, and sat in on both music classes & a Symphonic Band rehearsal as they experienced a day in the life of a Music Major.

Eight WEHS Band Students Selected for BG Youth Orchestra

The Warren East High School Band has had eight students selected for participation in the Bowling Green Youth Symphony Orchestra's April Concert.  These students will be performing several pieces on Tuesday, April 16, 2011 at 6:30 PM at the First Presbyterian Church in downtown Bowling Green.  The students selected are:
