The 2011 Winter Guard at their first competition.
The Warren East Winter Guard, under the direction of Color Guard Coordinator Sara Phillips, is in its second year of competition in the Southeastern Color Guard Circuit. In 2010, its first year, the Winter Guard placed 5th out of 16 in the Novice Class at SCGC Championships. In 2011, the Winter Guard was promoted and currently competes in the Scholastic Regional A Class.
The Winter Guard meets on Mondays, Wednesdays & Thursdays from 3:00-5:30 PM beginning after Marching Band season and continuing through Championships in March/April, and competes & has camp days on Saturdays.
The Winter Guard is an optional performance ensemble. Membership is open to high school band students, middle school band students, and eighth grade & high school students not enrolled in band. Students wishing to participate in the Winter Guard must sign & follow a participation contract, which may be found here.
