WEHS Band FAQ's

Frequently Asked Questions about the Warren East High School Band Program

Band Fees:  How much are they?

Band fees for the 2012-2013 school year are $200.00 for all students not in Color Guard.  Fees for Color Guard students are $275.00 to facilitate the higher costs associated with participation in the Color Guard (staffing, uniforms, equipment).  Families with more than one student in the Warren East High School Band will receive a discounted rate.  Please contact Mr. Cline about this discounted rate.

Band Fees:  When are they due?

For the 2012-13 school year, the payment schedule for band fees is as follows:

* Deposit - $50.00 - Due Tuesday, May 01, 2012.  This deposit will secure your student's spot in the marching band show.  If the deposit is not paid, your student will still be able to participate in band, but will not have a drill spot in the show and will be considered an alternate.

* June Payment - $50.00 - Due Friday, June 01, 2012

* July Payment - $50.00 - Due Monday, July 02, 2012

* August Payment - $50.00 - Due Wednesday, August 01, 2012

* September Payment - $75.00 - Due Tuesday, September 04, 2012 (Color Guard Only)

Band Fees:  Why do we have to pay Band Fees?

While the Warren East Band receives funding from the Warren County School board, this funding is minimal and does not come close to covering all of the costs of our activity.  Your band fee goes to cover a variety of items, including music, instruments, staff, drill, uniforms, other equipment, t-shirts, contest entry fees, and more.

Band Fees:  How can I pay the Band Fees?

We have a number of ways that you can pay your band fees:

* You can send cash or check with your student.
* You may pay via PayPal by clicking "For Parents" -> "Make a Payment" (A processing fee of 3% + $0.30 will apply)
* You may pay via credit card in the band room. (A processing fee of 2.75% will apply)

Band Fees:  I can't afford the Band Fees.  What do I do?

While Warren East High School has some of the lowest band fees of any major program in the state of Kentucky (others range from $450-850 yearly), we do understand that there are circumstances in which paying the band fees may present a financial hardship for a student and their family.  It is our firm believe that finances should NEVER stop a student from participating in Band!

If you will be having problems paying the band fees on time, please contact Mr. Cline to work out a confidential alternate payment plan.  It is imperative that each and every student do their part, and we will work with you to make sure that you can still participate in our program!

Participation:  I want to do both Band and ________.  Can I?

In almost every instance, the answer is YES!

Mr. Cline & Mr. Leavell both believe very strongly in allowing students to have a number of experiences while they are in high school and are committed to working with other coaches and sponsors to allow students the opportunity to participate in multiple activities.  We will do everything possible to work it out where a student can do multiple activities.  If this applies to you, please contact Mr. Cline immediately!
