Eight Students Chosen for WKU Honors Band

Eight students have been selected to perform as part of the Western Kentucky University Honors Band this year. In addition, three more students have been chosen as alternates, marking the highest number of total students selected (or as alternates) that Warren East has ever had! The students chosen are:
Murray State University Festival of Champions to Air on KET

The Warren East Marching Band's performance in the Preliminaries at the Murray State University Festival of Champions can be seen when the telecast of the performance is shown on KET later this month. At FoC, the Raider Marching Band placed 3rd in Class AAA and 13th overall, narrowly missing an appearance in Finals by 0.5 points. The telecast, which will debut on KET on Friday, November 11th at 1:00 AM CST, will feature snippets of all bands, including Warren East, along with some words from Mr. Cline & Field Commanders Lilli Hendrix & Sarah Walden.

Marching Band Wraps Up Season at State Semifinals

The Warren East Raider Marching Band has wrapped up its 2011 season with their 4th consecutive appearance in the KMEA Class AAA State Semifinals. It was a very successful season for the Raider Marching Band, which performed "Who W.E. Are", its first-ever custom written show, composed by Assistant Director Cedrick Leavell. At Semifinals, the Raider Marching Band finished 10th with a score of 79.70. This ties 2010's placement as the highest in school history. Eight WEHS Band Seniors Participate in WKU's "Freshman for a Day"

Eight Seniors from the WEHS Band participated in the "Freshman for a Day" program at Western Kentucky University on Thursday, November 03 and Tuesday, November 08. These students are:
- James Bradfield - Horn
- Dakota Compton - Euphonium
- Storm Davenport - Bassoon
- Lilli Hendrix - Alto Saxophone
- Leslie Johnson - Clarinet
- AJ Jordan - Percussion
- Brittney Jordan - Flute
- Angelo Rodriguez - Tuba
As a part of this program, the students got to spend a day on WKU's campus, participated in (or scheduled) individual private lessons on their instrument, and sat in on both music classes & a Symphonic Band rehearsal as they experienced a day in the life of a Music Major.
